Major Hollywood studios are buzzing with excitement over the announcement of "Please Hold," the first feature film shot entirely during customer service hold times, featuring a soundtrack composed exclusively of elevator music and automated voice prompts.

Director Ima Waiter, known for their avant-garde approach to filmmaking, spent four years calling various customer service lines to capture the authentic experience of modern frustration. The film follows protagonist Bob Waiting as he attempts to cancel his gym membership while developing a deep philosophical understanding of existence through repetitive saxophone melodies.

"The beauty of this medium is its raw authenticity," Waiter explained during a press conference held entirely on speakerphone. "Every 'Your call is important to us' represents the human condition. Every 'Please continue to hold' is a metaphor for life itself."

The film's breakthrough moment reportedly came when Waiter accidentally discovered they could advance the plot by pressing different numbers on their phone keypad, creating the first-ever "Interactive Hold Cinema" experience.

Early test audiences have praised the film's realism, with many reporting they fell asleep during screenings and woke up feeling like they'd lived a genuine customer service experience. The movie's climactic scene involves Bob finally reaching a human representative, only to be told he's been transferred to the wrong department.

"Please Hold" is expected to premiere simultaneously in theaters and through a 1-800 number where viewers can experience the film while actually waiting for customer service.
