In a shocking turn of events, residents of the Scottish Highlands have reported an unprecedented surge in dragon sightings, leaving locals both baffled and mildly inconvenienced. Eyewitnesses claim these dragons prefer the scenic lochs and occasionally interrupt haggis picnics with enthusiastic fire-breathing displays.

"I was just fishing for trout when a dragon landed next to me and asked if I had any spare mints," said local angler Hamish McFergus. "Honestly, I thought I was dreaming — or had one too many whiskies. But then it sneezed a small flame and I realised, nope, definitely a dragon."

Tourism officials are reportedly scrambling to update brochures, now including a ‘How to Politely Ask a Dragon for a Selfie’ guide. "We never imagined dragons would be our biggest attraction since Nessie took an early retirement," admitted Fiona MacLaren, spokesperson for Visit Highlands. "Our biggest challenge now is convincing them to pose without breathing fire on the cameras."

Meanwhile, the dragons themselves have issued a statement via an Instagram post, declaring their preference for oatcakes over sheep and requesting the local bagpipe players to "tone down the noise during nap time." As the Highlands prepare to embrace their new scaly residents, one thing is clear: Scotland’s weather just got a lot hotter, and so did its tourism game.
