The Scottish Highlands has reportedly become the new hotspot for dragon sightings, baffling locals and tourists alike who had only expected sheep and the occasional haggis hunter. Eyewitnesses claim to have seen large, scaly creatures soaring over the glens, occasionally pausing to roast a careless camper's marshmallows with an accidental burst of fire breath.

“I was just minding my own business, trying to find the perfect spot for a selfie with Ben Nevis, when suddenly this dragon swoops down and almost steals my sandwich,” said local hiker Angus McFluff. “I always thought dragons were just in fairy tales – now I’ve got to worry about them stealing my lunch too!”

Experts at the University of Edinburgh’s Department of Mythical Wildlife have weighed in, suggesting that the dragons are likely descendants of the Loch Ness Monster who finally got tired of being shy. Dr. Fiona Scorch, a leading dragonologist, commented, “These dragons seem to have upgraded from underwater hide-and-seek to aerial barbecue masters. We advise hikers to carry marshmallow-proof backpacks and avoid shiny objects, which apparently dragons find irresistible.”

Meanwhile, the Scottish Tourism Board is unexpectedly thrilled, already brainstorming "Dragon Watching" tours and souvenir dragon egg hats. As the Highlands embrace their fiery new residents, locals have started leaving out offerings of single malt whisky and deep-fried Mars bars. Whether this marks the beginning of a new mythical era or just an elaborate prank involving smoke machines remains to be seen, but one thing's clear: Scotland just got a lot more interesting – and a lot more toasty.
