In an unprecedented move that has left Buckingham Palace staff barking mad, the royal corgis have officially unionized and are demanding improved working conditions, including premium dog biscuits and extended nap times.

The Corgi Workers Union (CWU), led by shop steward Duchess Fluffington III, presented a formal list of demands to palace management during yesterday's afternoon walk. The negotiations were reportedly tense, with several corgis resorting to the silent treatment and strategic shoe-hiding.

"We've been providing essential services to the monarchy for decades," explained union representative Sir Barksley through a series of precisely choreographed tail wags and head tilts, as interpreted by Dr. Doolittle, the palace's newly hired animal-human translator. "Yet we're still expected to perform ceremonial duties on the same kibble rations from 1952."

Key demands include: a 30% increase in treats, mandatory belly rub breaks every two hours, and the installation of a royal dog door to prevent "dignified waiting" outside human bathrooms. The union has also requested that all palace cats be required to acknowledge corgi seniority through formal bowing.

Palace officials are taking the demands seriously, with one insider noting, "We can handle diplomatic crises and constitutional matters, but nobody wants to deal with a corgi work slowdown."

Negotiations continue, though sources report the corgis have already begun a "work-to-rule" campaign, providing only standard-level adorableness instead of their usual maximum-cuteness output.
